Sarah Hollins

In honor of the new year, lets celebrate with a possibly new-to-you diva. If you’re like me, you might’ve been late to the Sarah Hollins party, but better late than never. Sarah is a singer-songwriter who writes most of her songs solo and has been putting out killer music for over a decade. Each EP and album is like a new chapter in her journey.

2014’s Grow Up EP started it all, with Sarah finding her voice in the music industry and the world. A young adult’s story put to melancholy music, giving fresh vocals to the struggles of growing up. Four years later, Sarah dropped her EP, Heartbeat. The music grew into a sexy pop vibe that delivers love songs with a mature powerful vocal.

Sarah’s only full-length album to date is her 2022 rocking Catholic Guilt, reminding me a bit of Candi Carpenter’s Demonology, with lyrics and a sound that are gritty and raw. Sarah doesn’t hold back on exposing her religious past and embracing the strength that got her through. In my gay opinion, this album defines growth and survival.

Sarah’s music is a beacon of light for those who have suffered sexual abuse, religious indoctrination, or those of us who just appreciate a fierce diva who is willing to put it all out there for the sake of her art and her fans. If Sarah stays on her four-year schedule, 2026 should welcome in another EP or album, so fingers crossed. If not, she has plenty of music available online to check out, you won’t be disappointed.
