Moody Joody’s Plain Jane

Welcome to this indie-pop party thrown by Moody Joody for their new debut album, Plain Jane. This trio is anything but the Plain Jane that their album title suggests, but who is Moody Joody?

Moody Joody is:

A young dreamer set free by music (“Summer ’09”) while searching for herself (“Sweet Surrender”) and susceptible to dickmatizing (“Fantasyland”).

A good-time party girl (“Rosie’s Party” and “Heart Shaped Bed”) who isn’t tied down by gender stereotypes (“Mad”).

Someone who has been around the block (“Average Joe”) as the hot catch that got away (“Suburbia”).

The drunk girl with regrets in the public restroom (“Loretta’s Last Call”) or regrets events the next morning on her walk of shame (OOPS!”).

The destined old-lady-in-waiting who will monitor the neighborhood through her blinds ready to report unscrupulous recycling practices or inappropriate overwatering of one’s lawn (“Big Blue House”).

In my gay opinion, Moody Joody is a threesome who are just as fun, sexy and retro as a key party. You can pick any of these songs out of a bowl and you’re guaranteed to come out with a happy ending.
