Bexx’s Sucker EP

I’m sure it’s no surprise that I’m a sucker when it comes to fun pop, so when I saw Bexx had a new EP called Sucker, I had to give it a listen and I’m so glad I did. The music is upbeat, the lyrics roll off the tip of my tongue as I play concert in my car, the humor is self-deprecating, and the whole EP leaves me with a smile on my face.

The EP is described as being “cathartic anti-love songs for people with big feelings” and it totally delivers. The lyrics, co-written by Bexx, are extremely personal and give a behind-the-curtain visit to Bexx’s dating life. The music is solid pop with an electronic sound that I can’t help but be move to.

The only problem with the EP, in my gay opinion, is that it’s only five songs and sixteen minutes long. It left me wanting more. Whether you’re sickening in love, hung up on someone who has moved on, foolishly unable to get over someone, in a toxic relationship, or planning a memorial service for one, this EP is for you.
