To wrap up Pride Month, I wanted to share the new EP Winter’s Over, by one of my favorite trans artists, Miki Ratsula. The overall chill-pop vibe of the EP is positivity and optimism. When winter’s over, it’s time to enjoy and look forward to better times. This fabulous four-track EP offers time to love for your pet (“Stomach”), work through anxieties (“God & Politicians”), look towards a brighter future (“I Bet It’s So Pretty”) and manifest good things (“Winter’s Over”). These beats stay long after listening.
Even at a time in history when people are trying to vilify and take away the rights of trans people, in my gay opinion, Miki’s taking the high road and putting out elevating music with a loving message. This is definitely a feel good EP for summer and shows that trans people aren’t meant to be feared but celebrated and appreciated.
