PHIA’s French Riviera EP

Bonjour! Here’s a French toast to my newest favorite bubblegum-pop EP, PHIA’s French Riviera. My musical taste has been a little heavy lately, I think even Spotify became concerned. Perhaps that’s why my Discover Weekly playlist last week recommended PHIA’s song “Talk To Me.”

I was sold the minute I heard the riff in the middle of “Talk To Me” where PHIA verbally breaks it down, which I’m a sucker for. “Everything’s Not Fine” keeps the party going even with longing lyrics. The second half of the EP is a bit more sexy and sultry with “Friends Don’t Kiss” (which might be a good thing or we’d have the flu and cold sores all the time) with it’s R&B beat and “French Riviera” that’s totally radio friendly.

I needed a good upbeat fix and PHIA’s little foursome of fun is exactly what the doctor ordered. In my gay opinion, some of the lyrics might not be the most upbeat but the sound of the EP sure is. PHIA isn’t the easiest diva to find online but I’m glad Spotify introduced her to me.
