Griff’s Vertigo Vol 1 EP

It’s been a couple years since I was introduced to Griff’s upbeat pop sound and her album One Foot In Front Of The Other. She’s dropped a few singles since then but I was excited for her new EP, Vertigo Vol. 1. It’s only a three-song taste of what direction Griff’s sound may be going in but it’s just as optimistic sounding as her previous album but with a more serious tone.

The fear of loving someone and putting one’s heart on the line bops through “Vertigo.” “Into The Walls” will appeal to everyone’s inner introvert when at times you just want to watch life pass you by instead of actively taking part. While “19th Hour” beautifully explains wanting to hold onto someone even when “sorry” and “I love you” are just empty words.

In my gay opinion, Vertigo Vol. 1 takes another positive step forward on Griff’s path of musical discovery. With the title Vol. 1, that promises there may be more volumes to come. I can’t wait to hear what they hold.
