In my gay opinion, making a New Year’s resolution is one of the worst forms of self harm. It’s a subtle way of saying that you’re not good enough as you are so the only way to be a better person is to change. You have 365 days and if you quit or are unable to reach your goal, you’re a failure. Is that helpful?
So instead of setting the bar too high and destroying any self esteem I have, I prefer to give myself a project a year. Why better myself when I can just enjoy myself? In previous years I’ve written every day, taken a picture a day, or read a book a week. My project this year is going to be taking a 1 second video every day and compile them into monthly videos.
I will be sharing them here. If you can spare less 36 seconds, welcome to my January.
